Join Trevor Strong for a lively, hands on course that walks you through the world of comedy sketch creation. We’ll dig into how to spark funny ideas, use techniques to stretch and twist them, and explore how to get the funniest performance out of them. In our final class, we’ll bring those sketches to life onstage. No experience necessary: just curiosity, a willingness to collaborate, and the courage to step into the spotlight.
In the first couple of classes, we’ll focus on generating funny ideas—using prompts, playful exercises, and stories from your own life to spark material. After that, the class will split into small groups, where you’ll workshop your ideas in your own mini “writers’ rooms,” helping each other punch things up while picking the strongest choices. Once the material feels solid, we’ll get on our feet and explore ways to perform it. The final class is the big finish: a performance where everything you’ve created comes together.
